Real Change: Think Better. Act Faster. Relate More Honestly. I’ve been thinking lately about what it takes to make the changes we know we need to make—to take our careers further, make our leadership more effective, and to actually live lives that are more in sync with what makes us happy. Most of us already know more than we could ever use. We have read the books, listened to the podcasts, and collected plenty of good advice. We may even understand exactly what is holding us back. But understanding something and changing it aren’t the same. Through my own experience, coaching, and working with others, I believe that meaningful change happens in three connected areas: how we think, how we act, and how we relate to others. Think better. We all tell ourselves stories about what is possible, what other people think of us, and what will happen if we take a risk. Some of those stories are true. Many are assumptions we have repeated so often that they now feel like facts. Thinking better does not mean forcing ourselves to be positive. It means questioning the thoughts that keep us stuck, seeing situations more clearly and making choices based on what is actually happening, not simply on what we fear might happen. Act faster. Insight matters, but only when it becomes action. We often wait for more confidence, more certainty, or the perfect plan. Meanwhile, the conversation remains unspoken, the decision remains unmade, and the opportunity quietly passes. Acting faster does not mean being reckless. It means moving intentionally before overthinking drains the energy from what matters. Sometimes the next step is not a dramatic leap. It’s one email, one honest conversation, or one small experiment. Relate more honestly. Our results are rarely created alone. They are shaped by how clearly we communicate, how confidently we speak up, how well we listen, and whether we are willing to address what everyone else is avoiding. Relating more honestly means being real without being careless. It means saying what needs to be said with both courage and respect. New Direction Going forward, these three areas will be the focus of this newsletter. Each week, we will explore practical ways to think better, act faster, and relate more honestly, so you can turn more of your potential into meaningful results at work and in life. Because your potential is not awakened by what you could do. It's awakened by what you are willing to put into practice. Today, notice one place where you feel stuck and ask:
Then follow through on the answer to one of these questions before the week is over. You can do it.
